1964 1/2 Mustang Restoration

Details:  The car was purchased in 1994 as a project vehicle.  The 260v8 engine was rebuilt along with the C4 transmission.  The paint was stripped down to bare metal and rust repair was done to the lower quarter panels.  We decided to also replace both door skins.  The gas cap was removed from the rear panel and was replaced by a flip top cap placed in the trunk.  After the bodywork was completed the body was coated in PPG DP40 primer, K36 high build primer, then with PPG base clear.  The paint was then wet sanded and polished.  A new headliner was then installed with a new windshield.  The original red interior was replaced with a stock 1965 mustang black interior.  The rear seat was replaced by a fold down panel allowing longer items to be placed in the trunk.  1995 Firebird Seats were modified to fit in the stock seat locations.  A custom wood center console was built and a wood radio/gauge cluster unit was built under the dash.  The wheels are 15x7 American Racing Torque Thrust D's.
