Year: 1982 Model: Jeep CJ-7 Limited Engine: 258 Inline 6 cylinder - 64k miles Transmission: Automatic - 64k miles Transfer Case: Dana 300 Factory Options: Leather interior, Air Conditioning, Hard top and hard doors, chrome front and rear bumpers, leather wrapped steering wheel and roll bar, headliner, tilt steering. Other options include a center console and side mirrors that were only available on the Limited model. Mileage: 104k total miles, engine and transmission were replaced at 40k in the mid 1980's. The engine is a factory crate engine installed by the dealership. While the engine was out the original owner had the transmission rebuilt. Current Condition: This Jeep is in good original condition. It is unrestored and has never been modified. It runs and drives and the transmission shifts through the gears. The brakes and power steering work as well. The air conditioning does not work, it needs a new compressor. Please note that all A/C parts are still on the Jeep. The blower/fan and all controls still function. All the original glass is intact. The original windshield is clouded around the edges and the hardtop still has its original factory smoked glass. It has not been tagged and driven on the road for a few years so it will need to be trailered. It can be driven around for testing though. History of this Jeep: This Jeep was purchased new in Georgia by a mail carrier. It was used on his mail route for a couple years until the post office provided him with a vehicle. It has every option available for the year. The original hard top has never been removed. The passenger seat has more wear than the driver seat because the original owner had to primarily ride in the passenger seat to reach the mail boxes. It was ordered with an automatic transmission to make driving easier. The original leather backseat was removed just after purchase to have more room for the mail. It was never used. The original carpet was removed a few years back but it still has the original floor mats that are in well used condition. The paint is all original except for the front right side of the Jeep. In the mid 1980's the Jeep struck a deer on the right side and the fender was repainted. The paint was blended up on part of the hood. The stripes on the front right side were never repainted. One of the original fog lights was cracked in the accident and the original owner replaced both fog lights with the ones that are currently on the Jeep. He was not able to find a replacement original fog light at the dealer after the accident. I have included specific information on each page next to the photos. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. General Jeep CJ Limited History: Very few CJ7 Limited's were produced. They were only produced in
82 and 83 and it is estimated that only 200 were built. The Limited was
the plush model, comparable to the Sahara or Renegade today. The Limited
package was available those years for an additional $2,895 on top of the
price of the Jeep. It has special striping and a Limited badge at the rear
corners. It came standard with hard top and hard doors that were specific
to the model. |
